Festivals

Visitors will find that Portland is an incredibly festive city. With annual festivals that certainly appeal to just about every interest, there is sure to be an activity right up your alley. The Oregon Seafood & Wine Festival, held in the middle of Dungeness crab season, is a culinary feast celebrating the seafood and wines of the region.

The annual Rose Festival lasts more than one week and includes a Grand Floral Parade, Concert in the Park, Rose Festival Queen’s Coronation, and Grand Floral Walk. Portland is known as the City of Roses, and this event brings out the best the city has to offer! Yoshida’s Sand in the City brings more than 450 tons of sand to the city to be sculpted by local companies and organizations and then shown on display over the weekend. Live music, kids’ crafts, and a giant sandbox for children make this a perfectly pleasing event for the whole family.

Known by many as one of the finest craft beer festivals in the world, the annual Oregon Brewers Festival pours brews from more than 73 breweries during this four-day event. Don’t miss the food lover’s paradise at the annual Bite of Oregon where patrons will tempted and seduced by delicacies from more than two dozen restaurants and a wine and beer garden. For those seeking a brilliant display of Christmas lights, the end of the year isn’t complete in Portland without the annual Christmas Ships Parade on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers when almost sixty boats decorated for the season are out on the water every night for two weeks; a sensational way to celebrate the season and prepare to ring in the New Year.
