Shopping & Dining
Louisville is indeed a shopper's paradise. If you are looking for brand name stores, head for the mall. For a step back in time, visit the Louisville Antique Mall located in a 1920’s art deco building with five stories of fascinating merchandise to choose from as well as a café shop.
An evening out on the town is everything and more at the Fourth Street Live with plenty of shopping, fine dining and superb nightlife packed into one great location. There's a food court for a quick bite to eat or you may want to dine in style at one of the many upscale restaurants (Louisville offers 2,500 restaurants in total). A traditional meal in Louisville may start with a Mint Julep (over 100,000 Mint Juleps are poured during the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks events), some tasty fried oysters, sweet-fried corn, crispy onion straws, grilled catfish, barbeque ribs or a prime rib cooked to perfection. For dessert, you can’t pass up a delectable piece of Derby Pie, a mouth-watering combination of chocolate, walnuts, pecans and Kentucky bourbon, making this dessert one-of-a-kind
