Bed and Breakfast Description

Newly emerged from the earth, the cottages of The Homestead stand in harmony with the ancient oaks. Natural gardens, meandering rock walls, and clear blue skies lull you into the slower pace of a mountain retreat. Inside, meticulous attention to detail, the warmth of yellow pine, hand-troweled plaster and saltillo tile floors grace each cottage with simple luxury. Comfortable living rooms, romantic bedrooms, spacious bathrooms and inviting country kitchens make your cottage a haven of relaxation and privacy all year long.

In the winter, the fireplace warms your soul, while in the summer, your private outdoor setting area draws you outside to enjoy the twilight and the magical stars.

All six guest accommodations have their own unique charm. The four one bedroom cottages, Country, Garden, Native American and Adobe were hand built by owners Larry & Cindy in 1992. The Star Gazing Loft was added in 1995 for those who don’t need all the amenities of our cottages. Just opened in 2004 is The Ranch House, a two bedroom/two bathroom accommodation perfect for families. Wood floors, maple cabinets and warm colors grace this newest addition.

A trademark of The Homestead is that every accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen stocked daily. Each accommodation also has its own private sitting area. A gas barbecue and picnic table area are available to all guests.

We are close to Yosemite, Sierra National Forest, golfing, Bass Lake, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing and local wineries.

The mountain village of Oakhurst is ten minutes away and is host to quaint shops, the latest movies, and local plays. Elegant as well as casual and ethnic dining is abundant.

Most Popular Rooms:

The Garden Cottage: Sits at the top of the property and is surrounded by rose bushes; a honeymoon and special occasion favorite. The spacious bathroom has a waterfall shower and oversized soaking tub.

The Ranch House: Can accommodate up to three couples. Living room with fireplace and queen sofa bed, a bedroom with queen bed and adjoining bathroom, a 2nd bedroom with two twins (or King) and a second bathroom. Full kitchen and dining area.
