 Treasure hunting. All conveniences. Guests enjoy relaxing and watching deer from the spacious top gallery; wake-up coffee served in the room, and a full plantation breakfast served on fine china, linen and silver in the main dining room. Guests receive a guided tour of the home and slave quarters, an opportunity to browse through Doctor Wade’s plantation diary, and they are welcome to use the swimming pool and spa (Jacuzzi). There is a stocked lake on the estate and some nature trails through the forests (and a metal detector if they would like to search for the buried treasure). Area Attractions and Activities: Civil War battlefields, Antebellum mansions, views of Mississippi River (Natchez and Vicksburg), fishing, treasure hunting (on-site). Rosswood is located midway between Natchez and Vicksburg, two miles east of US 61 on State Route 552. It is 1½ hours from Jackson, 3 hours from New Orleans, and 5 hours from Memphis. If you need specific directions, call ahead and we will mail or fax you a Rand McNally printout with mileages, driving times, where to turn, etc. Services: Sitting room, library, hot tub, nature trails, swimming pool Most Popular Rooms: Room #1: Large (20'x20') room overlooking lawns and drive adjoining top gallery. Rosswood’s four guestrooms are upstairs in the mansion, with canopied beds, Oriental rugs and antique furnishings.
