![]() Since 1721, when Isaac Mansfield built his house on Mechanic Street, then known as Brimblecomb Hill, it has been home to a cooper, a cordwainer, a minister, a wigmaker, an ice cream maker, and a friend of Benjamin Franklin, to name but a few. A continental breakfast is offered in our fireplaced sitting room. In summer, you might prefer your coffee in our garden. Area Attractions and Activities: Step from your door at Brimblecomb Hill into the heart of Old Marblehead. History surrounds you. The 1727 Old Town House is a stone's throw away. The Lee Mansion and Abbot Hall, home of the "Spirit of '76" painting, are nearby. Every street and byway is a trip into the past, and Brimblecomb Hill puts you right in the middle of it all. Today's Marblehead is just outside your door, too. Churches, galleries, shops, and fine eateries are all at hand. The Harbor, beaches and parks are easily within a 5 minute walk. Just step from your door. The rich past and exciting present of Old Marblehead are all around you at Brimblecomb Hill Bed and Breakfast. Services: Sitting room, fireplace, garden, private entrances Most Popular Rooms: The Isaac Mansfield Room is located on the first floor in the oldest part of the house. It features a queen size four-poster bed, a private bath, and lots of books! You might also expect a visit from Sassy, the friendly house cat. The Path Room, entering the garden area, is located on the first floor in the newer part of the house — circa 1810! It features a queen size bed and shares a bath just outside the door with one other room, The Deck Room, which overlooks the garden. |
