Bed and Breakfast Description

The Wicklow Inn Bed and Breakfast is surrounded by lush green foliage on the banks of the Rocky Broad River, in Chimney Rock Village, North Carolina, just minutes from Lake Lure. The Wicklow Inn Bed and Breakfast was built in 1947 on the banks of the Rocky Broad River in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, and named for the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland.

Beautiful views of Chimney Rock and river. Full breakfast served on deck overlooking river. Located in Chimney Rock Village and just 2 blocks from Chimney Rock Park.

Three delightful riverside rooms with queen beds, private baths, and private entrances. Two suites inside the Inn. One suite with king bed and the other on the main floor. Most rooms have river views, some have private decks overlooking river.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast consisting of seasonal fruits and juices, home-baked muffins, and a variety of special dishes, which may include peach pecan pancakes, casseroles, omelets, pancake pizza, or a variety of French toasts. When the weather is warm, breakfast is served on the deck overlooking the river.

Area Attractions and Activities:

After enjoying a restful night's sleep and a delicious breakfast, there are many delightful ways to spend your day. Within minutes are delightful restaurants and quaint shops filled with antiques, pottery and crafts. Roadside apple houses abound with fresh homemade cider and apples from nearby orchards.

Hiking in Chimney Rock Park, boating and fishing on Lake Lure, fly fishing in Rocky Broad River, antique/craft shops, lakeside dining, championship golf, swimming, family fun center, beach, hiking, horseback riding, Biltmore Estate.

In 1987 "Dirty Dancing" was filmed in nearby Lake Lure. When the movie set was dismantled, the former owners of the inn obtained the wallboards from one of the cottages featured in the movie. Later, when the inn was renovated, the boards were used to construct the outside wall of the Cottage Room, where they remain as a permanent piece of nostalgia from the movie.

Cottage Room: Private entrance off intimate deck with porch swing overlooking river. Very secluded from rest of inn. Queen bed furnished with quilts, TV, private bath. Fall asleep to soothing sounds of Rocky Broad River.

Spacious suite with king bed, sitting area with TV, sofa sleeper. Private bath with claw footed tub & shower. Delightful mural of the evening sky on ceiling. River views.
