Bed and Breakfast Description

Located on historic Main Street, the Victoria Inn, formerly Redbud Inn, was built in the "Miner's Exchange" style, the first new inn to be built in Murphys in 136 years.

Each room is an eclectic mix of wonderful European charm featuring high ceilings and doors, fireplaces or woodstoves, clawfooted bathtubs or spas. We have worked to make a unique feel to each room with the beauty and comfort of home.

Our Murphys, CA main street is lined with old sycamore, oak and black locust trees some of which may have sheltered Mark Twain, Black Bart or General Ulysses S. Grant. As you walk Main Street, you can feel the spirit of old Murphys in Calaveras County, California.

Murphys is located in Calaveras County which was made famous by Mark Twain's "Jumping Frog of Calaveras County". Every year we celebrate with the Frog Jumps in Angels Camp.

Summers are marked with the Bear Valley Music Festival reminiscent of Tanglewood in Massachusetts. Two weeks of a variety of music under the stars is one of the highlights of summer.

Murphy's is becoming the best rival to Napa Valley for our vineyards and wineries. We have 11 award winning wineries with our fabulous "Passport Weekend" wine tours and dinners provided by noted restaurants.

There are three golf courses, tennis, fishing, hiking, gold panning expeditions, white water rafting, shopping, winter skiing at Bear Valley plus summer water skiing on New Melones Lake. Mercer Caverns are in town, and Calaveras Big Trees Park is a short drive away.

Wisteria: Beautifully appointed luxury suite with king bed, fireplace, wetbar and spa tub for two. A lovely porch setting is a garden paradise to relax while enjoying floral views.

Eucalyptus: Deluxe king suite in our octagonal room with beautiful sitting area and large spa bathroom.
