Bed and Breakfast Description

Providence, Rhode Island bed and breakfast: C.C. Ledbetter

Quiet accommodations on a tree-lined street include a common dining room, cozy sitting room with fireplace, and a spectacular rose garden featuring peonies and David Austin roses (complete with hammock!).

The bedrooms at C. C. Ledbetter B&B are quiet, comfortable and inviting. Furnished with cable TV, each smoke-free room — overlooking the garden or picturesque tree-lined Benefit Street — is individually decorated with original art, unique period pieces, and heirloom quilts.

Seated at a traditional New England table, guests at C. C. Ledbetter B&B will be treated to a sumptuous continental breakfast, including four kinds of juice, twenty varieties of tea, and rich chicory-laced coffee from New Orleans, a house specialty. Warm breads with a selection of jams, delicious cheese, and seasonal fruit are offered. Breakfast is served daily from 8:30 to 10.

For almost 20 years, C. C. Ledbetter, a former cartographer for the U.S. Naval Hydrographic Office, has hosted her guests in a house full of history - the original house dates from 1768, and was probably the servant's quarters for nearby John Brown House.

As a B&B, it has been highlighted in Yankee magazine, Frommer's, Fodor's, the Rough Guide, and many others.
