Bed and Breakfast Description

The Farmers' Guest House was built in 1867 and operated as a bakery, store and hotel. This handsome Italianate-style building was a favorite overnight stop for area farmers bringing goods to market, as well as a gathering place for local folk. This structure remains today as one of the midwest's premier examples of 19th-century commercial vernacular architecture.

At breakfast, you can choose a private table for two or eat with a group of friends or other guests. A long bar (briefly featured in the movie 'The Field of Dreams') provides additional seating. This bar serves as the meeting place for our wine and cheese hour at 6 p.m. everyday.

Annie Lloyd's Cottage: Split level bath & a half suite. Main level, Jacuzzi, fireplace, half a bath, sitting area with TV-DVD player, front and back porch. Upstairs, king bed, full bathroom, TV-DVD player and wraparound porch.

Pete & Eleanor's Suite: Country charm - two room suite, Jacuzzi for two, gas fireplace, king size bed, TV-DVD player, new bathroom, private porch. It is truly home away from home.
