Bed and Breakfast Description

Ste. Genevieve, Missouri bed and breakfast: The Inn St. Gemme Beauvais

The Inn St. Gemme Beauvais is the oldest continuously operated B&B in Missouri. Situated on Main Street, within walking distance of local shops, restaurants and museums. Romantic gardens with gazebo and fountain. All cooking is on-site, from scratch. Afternoon tea with desserts, hor d'oeuvres and breakfast are complimentary.

We offer a very unusual breakfast: 4 courses with a choice of 8 entrees each morning. Also, our dining room has individual tables with candles and fresh flowers on each. There is waitress service as well.

Our hospitality is our strongest draw, and we know that people come to our inn to rekindle their relationships, so they are allowed as much privacy as they like. However, our tables are close enough to engage others in conversation.

There is a small common kitchenette and dining area on the second floor providing guests with a stocked refrigerator, coffee maker, coffees, teas and snacks all available on an honor basis. Included in your stay is High Tea at 2:00PM providing teas and breads/cookies, wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evening, and a full breakfast.

All rooms have cable and VCRs, private, enclosed baths, sound spas, queen or king beds. Some first floor suites; some suites with 2 beds.

The Inn has earned a Three Star Mobil rating. It has been a recipient of the Golden Star Award from Inn Style, Inc. and was featured in the June 1998 issue of Country Inns magazine. Romantic and celebratory packages available.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Surrounding the inn is the city of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. The oldest settlement in Missouri, "Ste Gen", as it is fondly referred to, is steeped in history. Founded in 1735, it is home to the oldest brick building west of the Mississippi River and three of the French vertical log homes of which there are only a handful throughout the United States.

The Inn St. Gemme Beauvais is located in the heart of the historic district. The streets of this area are lined with antique shops and craft boutiques. The area also has nearby golf, tennis, and hiking trails at Hawn State Park. Situated only 45-60 minutes south of St. Louis, Missouri, The Inn St. Gemme Beauvais offers its guests an Old World setting with New World amenities around the corner. Local restaurants offer choices varied enough to satisfy any palate.
