Bed and Breakfast Description

Hallowell, Maine bed and breakfast: Maple Hill Farm B&B Inn

This Capitol-area inn was named “One of 30 Great U.S. Inns” by Travel+Leisure (June 02), an Editors’ Pick noted as “Best of Both Worlds” by the ‘02 and ‘03 Yankee Magazine Travel Guide to New England, and “Best bed & breakfast hands down" in a statewide poll (1997). We now feature the largest solar energy system in Maine, and were awarded Maine's first "Environmental Leader" green lodging certification.

Rooms are spacious, furnished with antiques and A/C, high speed wireless Internet, cable TV, DVDs, and telephones. Some rooms have huge two-person whirlpool tubs, gas fireplaces, and private secluded decks. Meeting rooms & catering available.

Escape and relax on our 130 serene acres of unspoiled rural beauty, set back from the road. Rolling fields and woods, trails and secluded spring-fed swimming hole give you a taste of “real Maine” away from crowds of tourists. Our location is an excellent “base camp” to easily see the rest of Maine, with many coastal, lake, or mountain trips (even Freeport shopping) within an easy hour’s drive. Ride a bike on our rural roads, just relax on the front porch with a Maine microbrew beer or cocktail from our bar. Visit our barnyard llamas, goats, sheep, cows, pony, and chickens, providing our own free-range eggs featured in full menu choice breakfast. Relax in the sun or under the shade of our maple trees, or curl up by the living room fireplace with a cup of herbal tea and homemade cookies available 24 hours a day
