Golden, Colorado bed and breakfast: The Dove Inn B&B

The original pioneer home which grew to be The Dove Inn was built in 1868, with additions made in 1870, 1928, and 1998. This charming Victorian residence is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, just a few minutes west of Denver. The Inn's two-story bay window looks out on Golden's spectacular scenery and a 100-year-old spruce tree. All rooms have private, in-room baths and queen or king beds. Three have electric fireplaces and two have two-person whirlpool tubs. Rates include a hearty cooked breakfast.

Your hosts, Bill and Annette Lyttle, look forward to welcoming you, whether you're a business traveler, someone looking for a special getaway, or a visitor wishing to explore everything the area has to offer. A clean, comfortable room and good breakfast conversation await you.

The Dove Inn is situated in easy walking distance of downtown Golden's unique shops and restaurants, the Colorado School of Mines, the Coors Brewery tours, the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, and kayaking on Clear Creek. Nearby attractions include Buffalo Bill's grave and museum, the Colorado Railroad Museum, and Red Rocks amphitheatre and park. Colorado's great outdoor activities, such as skiing, hiking, and sightseeing, are within easy driving distance.

Yankee Girl Room. A six-foot clawfoot tub/shower in the private bath is a distinctive feature of this second-floor room. It's great for a two-person soak. Original chimney brick is visible, adding to the charm of this cozy Victorian room.

Gold Queen Suite. A two-person whirlpool tub face in tumbled marble. Sitting area with wing back chair, love seat/twin bed pullout, and electric fireplace make this suite a romantic getaway.
