Kaede B&B
Ipswich, Massachusetts.
1845 Greek Revival/Federalist property in historic district. A combination of Japanese culture and New England tradition, we are more than a convenient location. Come enjoy Olde Ipswich and a slice of traditional Japanese culture at Kaede (Ka-eh-day).
Bed and Breakfast Description

Newlyweds Jason and Makiko have returned from Japan to open up Kaede (Ka-eh-day) at the location of the former Town Hill Bed & Breakfast in the heart of downtown Ipswich. They've preserved the New England charm of the former establishment but made changes that allow guests to get a taste of Japanese culture, food, and tradition during their stay.
Learn a little Japanese, try Makiko's famous miso soup, or enjoy some warm sake before bed. If you're lucky, you might even get to help throw some pottery in the owners' private studio. Enjoy an Asian twist to the traditional New England bed and breakfast experience at Kaede.
Just a little innkeeper background...
Jason and Makiko Keough met in Japan where Jason had traveled to teach English. After dating for several years, they decided to get married and move back to the United States.
Jason is from the Ipswich area but lived in Japan for ten years and is fluent in the language. Makiko is a native of Japan and is trained as a nurse. Both are experienced potters and you can find their work for sale in the local shops.
