Sherwood Forest

Saugatuck, Michigan.

Surrounded by woods, this beautiful Victorian-style home offers fireplace-Jacuzzi suites, heated pool, bicycles, wraparound porch. 1/2 block to Lake Michigan & spectacular sunsets.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Saugatuck, Michigan bed and breakfast: Sherwood Forest

This beautiful Victorian home offers inviting elegance in a wooded setting. Hardwood floors, leaded-glass windows, and wraparound porch add to the ideal surroundings.

Guestrooms are complete with antiques, cozy wing chairs, private baths, queen beds and central air. Two suites available. The 1st reproduces the serenity of the Northwoods as a replica of the inside of a log cabin. It includes a stone-mantled gas fireplace, viewed from either the two-person Jacuzzi or the comfort of the bedroom.

The 2nd suite features the same amenities, but is decorated in the flair of the late 19th century. One room sports a handpainted mural that transforms the room into a canopied tree loft and is complemented by a gas fireplace.

Breakfast is served each morning, featuring such favorites as pecan streusel coffeecake, orange French toast, or potato quiche. During the summer, guests can swim in the heated pool adorned with dolphins riding the ocean waves, or walk 1/2 block to a Lake Michigan public beach to enjoy spectacular sunsets.

Bicycles are available for exploring the scenic lakeshore. In winter, x-country ski or hike along wooded paths, or visit charming Saugatuck. Separate cottage with fireplace also available. AAA and Mobile Rated.

Area Attractions and Activities:

In the village, spring & summertime visitors will find quaint specialty shops, superb restaurants, charter fishing, leisurely boat trips, pro golf courses, tennis courts, soft dune beaches for sunbathing & swimming, canoe livery, antique markets, summer theatre & more.

Sporting guests may catch the historic chain ferry, cross the river for a short hike to the foot of Mount Baldhead. Count the stairs as you climb; then, take the nature trails to Oval Beach, stroll on Lake Michigan.

Resorters will find treasures as they shop the unique apparel & gift salons, stopping only to deliberate a purchase over chocolate dessert or specialty ice cream.

During the off-season, experience a captivating small town "quietness" not known to summer visitors. Watch a symphony of colorful changing trees, catch that familiar scent of burning leaves as neighbors prepare their yards for winter. When the wind blows & the snow falls, cross country ski, sled, & enjoy a warm cozy fire.
