Bed and Breakfast Description

Taos Mountain is our backyard. Hacienda del Sol consists of 11 uniquely decorated Southwest- style guest rooms and suites, each with their own private bath. The original building dates back to 1804. Situated on 1.2 acres, the hacienda adjoins 95,000 thousand acres of Taos Pueblo Indian land. Taos Mountain, considered sacred by the Taos Indians, provides a commanding backdrop to our backyard.

Latilla fencing and adobe walls surround beautifully landscaped grounds. To date, 600 daffodils, 2000 tulip bulbs, and numerous fruit trees, shrubs and perennials have been planted.

Wake up to the aroma of our freshly-ground, special blend coffee and a newspaper. Enjoy them together with a delicious gourmet breakfast prepared by chef/owner Gerd. We'll serve you beside a roaring fire in the winter or on the patio in the summer.

The Cowgirl Room: Second floor room with spectacular view of Taos Mountain from its large picture window. Snuggle in the king size bed and enjoy the views or relax in Taos chairs by the corner gas log fireplace. Pamper yourself in the 2 person Jacuzzi.

Los Amantes: A beautiful suite with handmade quilt, handcrafted leather couch and over-sized two person Jacuzzi. The bathroom has a Mexican-tiled rainforest shower and separate water closet, bedroom has a wood-burning fireplace and king sized bed.
