Bed and Breakfast Description

Stroll through the extensive gardens, listen to the clip-clop of Amish buggies as they pass by the inn, relax on the Victorian porches, explore the art gallery, raid the cookie jar, or help work on the puzzle in the puzzle room.

The inn dates from 1848 and has a colorful past, with stories that we will happily share. Furnished in antiques and featuring hand-painted walls in several rooms, all rooms have private baths and fireplaces, (two with whirlpool tubs), hair dryers, robes, Amish quilts, featherbeds, fresh flowers and nightly turndown service.

There are many century homes in town, and a short walk will introduce you to several types of architecture, as well as some of the best views of rolling farmland around. We will be happy to direct you to a covered-bridge tour, the best places to bike, cross-country ski or hike, our favorite quilt, craft and antique shops and restaurants. We've found the best for you - everything from local dinners with Amish families to some of the best in fine dining and locally brewed beer.

Just five houses down from the inn is the Olde Stone Cottage. This luxury accommodation is ideal for a romantic honeymoon, girlfriends getaway or relaxing private vacation. It contains two bedrooms - one with a king bed and whirlpool tub - one bath, full kitchen and porch with backyard grill.
The Carriage House is adjacent to the inn and is a vacation home with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, complete kitchen and deck with grill. Perfect for a family.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Located ten minutes from the Antiques Capital of the USA, Adamstown, where Sundays feature 3,000 dealers. We are surrounded by covered bridges, one-room schoolhouses, quilt shops, antique barns, craft stores, near museums, outlets in both Reading and Lancaster, and Amish attractions.

Use us as your base for Longwood Gardens, Hershey, Winterthur, Valley Forge and Gettysburg.

Most Popular Rooms:

The Garden Suite: Our most private and elegant. It features a king-size feather bed, fabrics of cranberry and sage, two-person whirlpool tub, massage shower, cable TV, gas stove/fireplace, daybed, private garden porch and English wardrobe from the 1930's

The Kriss Kringle room: Features French antiques, an 1840 child's sleigh, and fabrics in cranberry and forest green. The queen feather bed is covered by an Amish quilt; has a private bath with shower, fresh flowers, robes and a fireplace.
