 Step back in time in this unique bed and breakfast located on the second floor of the historic Edgewater Hotel in greater Orlando. The hotel originally opened in 1927 as one of the most technologically advanced hotels of its day. Today the hotel has undergone a historic restoration to provide guests with the look and feel of the original 1927 ambiance while making modern comforts such as climate control and wireless internet as unobtrusive as possible. Our ground floor includes three eateries featuring pizza, Italian cuisine, Southern-style barbecue, European-style deli meals, and fine dining. There is also a flower & gift shop, and an old time barbershop. From the antique sinks and fixtures to the original 1926 Otis elevator, the Edgewater is a bed and breakfast experience like none other in Orlando. The twenty-two mile scenic West Orange Trail passes directly in front of the Edgewater. It provides an excellent jogging, hiking, biking or strolling path for those who wish to view Florida’s flora and fauna as it really was in bygone days. In true bed & breakfast fashion, your stay includes a full breakfast served by our innkeeper. The Edgewater is ideal for intimate weddings, anniversaries, family reunions, retreats, and small conferences and seminars. Area Attractions and Activities: Locally in Winter Garden, try a quiet walk or bike ride along West Orange Trail,or Winter Garden Fitness, where full work out facilities are available. Visit Winter Garden's Downtown Herb Shoppe & Day Spa, and the history of Winter Garden is on display at the Heritage Museum, Railroad Museum, and the Garden Theater. A short ride down the street is Orange County National, Orlando's premiere golf course. In less than thirty minutes traveling west, you can be at the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Resort and Disney’s other major resorts including The Epcot Center, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the Disney MGM Studios, Downtown Disney, including the House of Blues, Disney’s Pleasure Island, Cirque Du Soleil’s La Nouba. In less than thirty minutes traveling south, you can be at Universal Studios Orlando and Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s CityWalk featuring both the Blue Man and Hard Rock Live. Sea World Orlando and Wet 'n Wild are also within a half hour's travel. Most Popular Rooms: Room 215 is our Honeymoon/Anniversary room. It is a much larger single room with a double bed that has a feather top mattress for added comfort. There is a sitting area with a loveseat and coffee table and room enough for dressing in a wedding gown. Suite 206/208 is a spacious suite featuring a double bed with a 19th century antique frame in one bedroom and a double bed and twin bed in the other bedroom. This suite features the only antique metal dresser original to the Edgewater Hotel of 1927. |
