Perhaps the most beautiful and famous inn located in California, the Green Gables Inn is a historic gem with panoramic views of the Monterey Bay. Every detail in this exquisite Queen Anne Victorian, built in 1888, has been meticulously restored.

Bed and Breakfast Description

The Green Gables Inn has 11 beautifully decorated rooms each more unique than the one before. The Chapel Room is filled with lustrous mahogany, while the Gable Room has a ladder to the cozy attic room in the very gable itself. The Lacy Suite has a magnificent canopy bed and the Balcony Room, with its sweeping ocean views, is the perfect room for daydreaming. Or opt for a Carriage House Room with a spacious sitting area, king bed, fireplace and jetted spa tub.

If you’ve stayed at a Four Sisters Inn, you’ve surely noticed the bears. For more than 25 years, we’ve placed teddy bears in all of our rooms, all of them available for adoption. They are very popular with our guests, many of whom like taking "their" bear home to remember a very special trip -- a honeymoon, an anniversary, or just a wonderful time away.

Monterey Bay Aquarium
The nation's number one aquarium features the million-gallon Outer Bay exhibit and the largest jellyfish exhibit anywhere; a three-story Kelp Forest; and a two-story sea otter exhibit.

First Sundays at La Mirada
"First Sunday" is an ongoing series which highlights classical music and art. While taking in La Mirada's lovely surroundings, visitors may also enjoy light refreshments. Museum docents are on hand to answer questions and interpret the exhibitions.

Jazz Concerts at Pebble Beach
Featuring The Martin Headman Trio. At the Terrace Lounge at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. *Gate fees waived when attending the jazz concerts.

Historic Garden League Tours
Docent-led tours of historic gardens, including Doud House, as featured in House Beautiful. Tours begin at picket fence 210 Olivier St., Monterey. Reservations are encouraged.
