This little town on the east bank of the Mississippi River is a major historic location -- site of the Siege of Vicksburg, the Civil War's pivotal and most famous battle.
Today, you can visit Vicksburg National Military Park, the Old Courthouse museum, McRaven, the Biedenharn Museum of Coca-Cola Memorabilia, Yesterday's Children Antique Doll and Toy Museum, the Gray & Blue Naval Museum, Christ Church, or one of the city's many other historic homes.
Vicksburg has four casinos, family parks, and even a U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station open for public tours. With all of these attractions, plus opportunities for discount shopping, tennis, swimming, and golf, Vicksburg has a little of something for everyone.
