Bed and Breakfast Description

Seagrove, North Carolina bed and breakfast: The Duck Smith House

Built in 1914 by William "Lola" Trogden this beautiful old farmhouse stood overlooking 50 acres in what is now the heart of hand-made pottery country.

In the mid 1920's the house was rented to the Hayworth Duckery "Duck" Smith family. The House was always referred to as The Duck Smith House even after the Smith family moved out. To this day, the name has stuck.

The Duck Smith House was most recently purchased in November 2005 by two sisters, originally from Long Island and Florida. Barbara and Suzanne had a vision of restoring this old farmhouse and with hard work they were able to reopen in February 2006. What an undertaking for sisters in their middle years ... and loving each and every day of this new adventure. Come visit the two sisters here in Seagrove, North Carolina.
