The Duck Smith House
Seagrove, North Carolina.
Escape, relax and recharge with the Duck Smith House Bed & Breakfast. Nothing but the best while you are our guests! We serve a complete breakfast which may include Stuffed French Toast, which is Barbara's signature dish, or another breakfast favorite!
Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1914 by William "Lola" Trogden this beautiful old farmhouse stood overlooking 50 acres in what is now the heart of hand-made pottery country.
In the mid 1920's the house was rented to the Hayworth Duckery "Duck" Smith family. The House was always referred to as The Duck Smith House even after the Smith family moved out. To this day, the name has stuck.
The Duck Smith House was most recently purchased in November 2005 by two sisters, originally from Long Island and Florida. Barbara and Suzanne had a vision of restoring this old farmhouse and with hard work they were able to reopen in February 2006. What an undertaking for sisters in their middle years ... and loving each and every day of this new adventure. Come visit the two sisters here in Seagrove, North Carolina.

Area Attractions and Activities:
The Duck Smith House is a 1914 farmhouse situated in the quaint town of Seagrove. Seagrove is the pottery capitol of North Carolina. Potters are scattered throughout the Seagrove countryside along winding and twisting roads. As you go around a bend you will see a potters sign, pull in and see all of their wonderful works. Park in town, stroll around and walk to the museum. The Seagrove Hardware Store is one of our landmarks. They still sell nails by the pound and horseshoes can be purchased one at a time. Step back in time...come to Seagrove.
Don't forget to visit the North Carolina Zoo where you can stroll around the North American and African natural habitats. Plan on spending about 4 hours walking through the forest while you see the animals in their natural setting. The Zoo is only 10 miles from The Duck Smith House.
