 Built in 1904 for William and Ella Breeden, this beautifully preserved five-bedroom Craftsman home was purchased by James and Carrie Hersey in 1916 who raised five generations here. In 1983 Hersey House became an inn and opened its doors to guests from far and wide. You'll enjoy the welcoming front porch and a stroll in our peaceful gardens. Relax and unwind in one of our well-appointed guest rooms in the main house, or in the private cottage, all located just a short walk from downtown Ashland with its shops, restaurants and theaters. And, you'll enjoy a fabulous, gourmet breakfast to start your day. Hersey House offers you five lovely guest rooms to choose from, each luxuriously furnished with your comfort in mind. Every room has a private bath, a comfortable king or queen bed, in-room temperature controls, WIFI accessibility, hair dryers and, of course, our gourmet breakfast each morning. Two of our guest rooms accommodate a third person. The fully equipped two-bedroom Old Globe Cottage sleeps six and guests enjoy a breakfast of fresh pastries, fruit and juice each morning. Children & pets are welcome here. We provide a few extra touches to make your visit special. You'll love the Harry & David truffles left in your room each night, and help yourself to sodas and chilled water from our guest 'fridge to go with our fresh home-made cookies. Soft, warm blankets and seat cushions are available to keep you comfortable at the outdoor Elizabethan Theater performance. Area Attractions and Activities: Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Britt Music Festival, Ashland's Lithia Park, National Forests, River Rafting, Fishing, Golf, Crater Lake, Oregon Caves, Jacksonville, Hiking Services: WIFI, deck, gardens Most Popular Rooms: Shakespeare's Garden, added in 2006, is a ground floor room with a private entrance through our garden. It has a king-size bed topped with a 6,000 piece quilt hand-made by a friend of ours. We can also configure the room with two beds. Our Romeo & Juliet room has a private balcony that beckons you to rise from your comfortable queen bed to watch the sun rise over the spectacular Rogue Valley. |
