Bed and Breakfast Description

The Bell House Bed and Breakfast, open year round, is located in Columbia County, New York, in the historic Hudson Valley. At the tri-corner of New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, it is close to all Berkshire attractions.

Situated in the beautiful Taconic Mountains, The Bell House is a gracious 19th century inn, built in 1830 by the Bell family who resided there for generations. Set on four acres and carefully restored in recent times, the inn offers guests a rural setting of picturesque charm. Warm and inviting, the house has comfortable rooms furnished with antiques, as well as all modern amenities.

Full gourmet breakfasts are served between 8 and 10 a.m. in the beamed-ceiling dining room, covered porch, which wraps around the house, or in good weather, on the secluded brick terrace overlooking the perennial gardens and barns. Daily delicacies include fresh fruit in season, homebaked cakes and muffins and such specialties as: Eggs Benedict, Peaches and Cream French Toast, Banana Pecan Waffles, Zucchini Frittata, Blueberry Pancakes and Feta Cheese Quiche.

Nathaniel Hawthorne: This sunny room faces East and an array of maples, oaks, and evergreen trees. Furnished with 19th century maple twin beds, covered with Wedding Ring Quilts which can become king-size when needed, this room comes with a whirlpool tub!

Edith Wharton: A large inviting room with an imposing Antique Spanish headboard and a Queen-size bed, this bedroom overlooks the pool, spacious lawns and perennial gardens. Adjacent is a large master bath with Antique claw-foot tub and shower combination
