Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1919, River Gate is a stately mansion and includes a parlor with fireplace, library, formal dining room, sun room and billiard room. The Inn features king, queen and double rooms with cable television, modernized ensuites and Jacuzzi tubs while still maintaining turn-of-the-century charm.

Breakfasts are included and can be enjoyed in the formal dining room or on the sunporch, both overlooking the pool and river area. Complimentary coffee/tea is available 24 hours.

The convenient location allows for privacy but is a 20 minute walk from fine dining, shopping, entertainment, MTS Center, Legislative grounds, and much more.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The Inn is centrally located, minutes from downtown Winnipeg. Located in historic Armstrong Point on an acre along the Assiniboine River. It features some of the City's largest Elm and Cotton Wood trees, which surround a large heated swimming pool for guests to enjoy. Make arrangements at our partner Spa, go to the historic Forks market and meeting point, the legislative grounds are a short walk and feature the golden boy and masonic architecture. The Winnipeg Art Gallery is just around the corner and world class horse racing is available at Assinniboa Downs. Winnipeg has an incredible amount of quality restaurants and you can find all types of authentically prepared food. The Exchange District is historically significant and if you are lucky you will see a movie being filmed there! Grand Beach is a short drive away but can be well worth the trip. It was ranked as one of North America's finest INLAND beaches. Assiniboine Park is one of the largest urban parks and includes the zoo!

We have a wide range of rooms. King beds down to two twins! Four of our rooms have ensuite bathrooms and two rooms share a bathroom. Every room is unique but inviting and cozy!

Our two deluxe suites have ensuite bathrooms with jetted tubs. One has a king-size bed that is heaven to sleep on with a private fireplace. The other is a queen-size bed with a view overlooking the river. Both are very popular.
