The inn was built in 1875 in the Second Empire style by the first Dominion Architect of Canada, Thomas Seaton Scott, as his personal residence. The home has been lovingly renovated, and the inn has been welcoming visitors for over twenty years. All of the guest rooms are individually decorated and have ensuite bathrooms (some with jacuzzi tubs), hairdryers, cable television, dataport telephones and air conditioning. A fabulous, full hot breakfast is included with your stay, served in our dining room. There's nothing better then starting the morning with one of our famous breakfasts! All of our menu selections are cooked to order with the freshest possible foods. Help yourself to our freshly baked muffins and croissants and assortment of cold cereals. Area Attractions and Activities: There is so much to see and do in Ottawa. From museums to casinos, it's all here. The Parliament Buildings, a 10 minute walk from the inn, are by far the most popular attraction in the city and tours are available. The new Canadian War Museum is also a short walk away and the National Art Gallery, Museum of Civilization are all close by. The Byward Market, only a 20 minute walk from the Inn, is packed with restaurants, shops, outdoor stalls and nightlife. The National Arts Centre which offers world class concerts and plays and Ottawa's famous Rideau Canal are at the end of our street. The National Archives and Library are five minutes away. Gatineau Park is a short drive where you can enjoy hiking and cross country skiing. Ottawa is famous for "Winterlude" and the Tulip Festival and many other events thoughout the year such as the Blues Festival in July and the very popular Chamber Music Festival in August. Our king bedroom has a large Jacuzzi tub just right for two and is a favourite with newlyweds, birthday and anniversary celebrants. All of our Jacuzzi rooms have upgraded amenities, bath salts and tea lights. |
