![]() An elegant 1849 Victorian inn charming Sandwich Village is furnished almost entirely with wonderful antiques. And, even though a few of the pieces in the Living Room are quality antiques, innkeepers Don and Katherine Sanderson are quick to point out that the comfy furniture is meant to be used and not just admired. Here you'll be able to enjoy rich Oriental items, antiques, and all the decorative drama of the Victorian era, including a curved main stairway and 11-foot ceilings. Built at the height of Sandwich's 19th- century prosperity, the rooms here are named for important Sandwich citizens, such as Thomas Dexter, who built the gristmill in 1654 in the center of town, and Deming Jarves, who was the founder of the Sandwich Glass Factory. All seven rooms are elaborately appointed, some with canopied and four poster beds, four with whirlpool baths, three with working fireplaces and four with glass front stoves. Each has a private bath. Don and Katherine serve a gourmet breakfast that may include fresh scones, hot breads, fresh fruit, juices and their famous crab cake Benedict. After breakfast, retire to a chair on the front porch overlooking Main Street to make plans for the day. There's much to do and see within walking distance and they will assist you in making your plans. Complimentary beverages served throughout the day. Children 12 and older are welcome at this year-round inn.
