Bed and Breakfast Description

The Sheffield House, Bed and Breakfast, is located in Kailua, a quiet residential beach community. We have two vacation rental units-- the garden suite and the guestroom-- which are connected to - but separate from - our house. A breakfast of Portugese cinnamon sweet bread, fruit, passion orange juice, coffee and tea is provided in your room the first morning.

Both of the units have off street parking, private entrance, phone, wireless internet connection, and color TV. Mexican tile floors, wicker/rattan furniture and tropical colors set a beautiful scene for a relaxing vacation. While not air-conditioned, we have good tropical breezes almost all of the time and ceiling fans in every room. We are a non-smoking facility. The guestroom bathroom is wheelchair accessible.

The guestroom and the garden suite (although under separate keys) can connect to make a two-bedroom two-bath unit.

Wake up to the sound of birds singing in the distance and breezes coasting in from the ocean, then go for a walk on beautiful, white, sandy, Kailua beach.

We also make available futons, a fold-up portable baby crib and beach chairs as needed.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Kailua Beach is absolutely the best beach on Oahu, and only a short walk away. From Sheffield House, just walk down the street toward the ocean, turn right at the light onto Kalaheo Rd. Take the first left, Kaapuni St and walk straight ahead to the beach.

We are not far to Hanauma Bay for world class snorkeling.
The Polynesian Cultural Center is 40 minutes up the road in Laie. Waikiki and Honolulu is only 10 miles away over the Pali Mountains. If you are looking for Hawaiian History the Bishop Museum is in Honolulu. Pearl Harbor's Arizona Memorial and the Missouri are also important historical parks that commemorate World War II. Hike to the WWII pillbox above Lanikai. Find puka shells at Bellows Air Force Beach. Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens in Kaneohe provides you with a hike where the plants have name labels.

There are also many Eco-Adventures that you can go on, including hiking, swimming, kayaking, bird watching, surfing and snorkeling. Feed the fish/ducks at canals

Garden Suite Wild life? The entry way turtle fountain of the Garden suite welcomes guests. Inside a watercolor print of a Hawaiian monk seal looks over the futon saying, "Aren't the waves grand?" The geckos chirp, "Did you enjoy your day in Kailua?"

The Guest room has a chinese steamer pot bubbler near the entry.
