![]() The Inn has six spacious, air-conditioned and delightfully furnished guest rooms, all with private bath. Our spacious living room, with fireplace, TV and VCR, and two formal dining rooms, are also available for your enjoyment. Our guest library has books, WiFi, ice machine, telephone and refrigerator for your use, and it adjoins a large porch on the second floor overlooking the garden for our guests' pleasure. A complete breakfast, prepared by your innkeepers Jeanne and Jim, is included with your room. Coffee and tea service, with homemade biscotti, is available for early risers at 7:00 and breakfast is served from 8:30 to 9:30. Please let us know if you have special dietary requirements. The Thomas Shepherd Inn has been offering guests a memorable inn experience for over fifteen years. Built in 1868 as the parsonage for a Lutheran church, this Federal-style architectural treasure is situated on land once owned by Thomas Shepherd.The Thomas Shepherd Inn is located in downtown Shepherdstown, on the corner of Duke and German Streets. We have off-street parking available behind the inn on Duke Street. A variety of restaurants, shops and historic buildings are all within easy walking distance, as is Shepherd College. Harper’s Ferry, Berkeley Springs, and Antietam Battlefield are within short driving distances. We are happy to accommodate small group gatherings or assist you with special occasions. Please let us know what we can do to make your stay special! Area Attractions and Activities: Explore the history of the area at nearby Antietam battlefield or Charles Town. Harper's Ferry, about 10 miles away, has wonderful vistas and a collection of small museums. If you enjoy outdoor activities, we are just minutes away from the C&O Canal Towpath, the Potomac River, and the Appalachian Trail. Rafting, tubing and kayaking are all available locally. Fine dining and unique shopping are part of the Shepherdstown experience. You can enjoy live music most nights of the week, ranging from rock to blues to Appalachian dulcimers. In addition to the everyday activities available here, Shepherdstown is the site of several festivals like the Dulcimer Festival in September, the Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festivals in June and September, and the Contemporary American Theater Festival hosted in July by Shepherd College. For sporting excitement, the Charles Town Races and Slots is 15 minutes away and Summit Point car racing is 45 minutes away.
