Located on the West End of Portland, 2.5 miles from the Portland International Jetport, 1.5 miles from the Old Port, 0.8 miles from the transportation center, 0.5 miles from the Arts District.

We offer a free cab ride from the Jetport and the Transportation Center to the Inn.

Lodging at The Inn At St. John isn't just a place to stay, it's a chance to experience a piece of Maine history. Originally known as the Hotel Victoria, the inn was built by railroad tycoon John Deering in 1897 to accommodate arriving train passengers at Portland's Union Station, which was located a block away. You can still see how grand the station was, immortalized in a photo taken from the roof of The Inn. This photo now hangs in our Lobby Reception area. As Portland's longest continuously operating inn, we carry forward with over 100 years of service to guests arriving by plane, train or bus service from all over the United States and the world!

Check In Instructions:

Late check ins welcome! Please be aware that the rear entrance does lock at 9:00 PM and the front entrance locks at 11:00PM. After 11:00 PM ring the doorbell as there is always someone here to be of assistance!

Reservation Notes:

We charge a $15 cancellation fee made for cancellations made by midnight prior to the day of arrival. Please note that we do not do refunds for same day cancellations.
