  LanierBB.comInn of the Year 1996 Carefully restored to preserve the sweeping cherry staircase, stained glass windows, parquet floors, gas and electric chandeliers and period furnishings to provide the true experience of a more gracious bygone era. Luxurious rooms in the main house and two new special rooms with private Jacuzzis and balconies in the Carriage House. The library is a cozy room in which to find your favorite book or sit back and enjoy the restfulness of our Inn. Our whitewood woodwork and bookcases are painted white and are highlighted by a bright floral wallpaper in greens, mauves, wines and pinks. This room is appointed with a Victorian loveseat, marble table tops, Gone With the Wind lamp, antique chairs, cushioned window seat, marble fireplace and our luxurious tea table. Room is now air conditioned & has wireless internet! The Reception Room: With antiques from the Victorian age, we have tried to recreate in our common room the ambiance of the early 1900's. Our Reception Room has a cherry double mantle fireplace with the original brown tile, Staffordshire dogs, lots of comfortable chairs, marble top smoking stand, leaded lamp signed by Bradley & Hubbard and a walnut sideboard. This room has a 10 foot ceiling with cherry paneling, beamed ceiling, original lighting fixtures and parquet floors covered by an Oriental rug in red, gold, blue and green to complement the furnishings. Now air conditioned! Area Attractions and Activities: Antiquing in Saline, Centreville, Allen & Shipshewana, Indiana Michigan International Speedway, Marshall Home Tour, Cornwell's Dinner Theatre, Tibbits Opera House, Outlet Mall - Freemont, Indiana Battle Creek Air Show & Hot Air Balloon Championships. Colon Magic Festival, Pokagon State Park, 4 Corners Art Festival, Branch County 4-H Fair, Applefest, Mendon Riverfest. Services: Library, reception room, some Jacuzzis, stained glass windows, sitting areas, A/C, wireless Internet Most Popular Rooms: Garden Suite: will transport you back to your Grandmother's rose garden. From the roses on the wall, old shutters at the windows, trellises around the jacuzzi and ivy on the ceiling. This room has a queen size wood and pewter look bed with canopy drapes. Stablemans Suite: Done in a primitive look, with rough plastered walls, black trim and pegs holding straw hats, suspenders, horse collars and harnesses. For this room we have picked a black pencil post queen bed draped with muslin at the corners. |
