West Barnstable, Massachusetts bed and breakfast: The Maple Street Inn
Registered as a National Historic Building, the Inn features a beautifully restored main house with accompanying guest rooms. Situated just off of historic Rt. 6A, in West Barnstable, MA, an outside deck overlooks quiet Mill Pond where resident swans and ducks are often seen caring for their young. The interior design of the Maple Street Inn Bed & Breakfast, reflects the heritage and local history of Cape Cod, with the tasteful addition of today’s modern amenities.

The Maple Street Inn is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The first owners were the Whitmans. The 1853 Second Empire Mansard Victorian provided a comfortable home for the musician and his family. West Barnstable used to be a singing village with a chorale society. Mr. Whitman organized the first orchestra in the Village. Concerts and dances were held at the dance floor near Jones Mill on Mill Pond. The pond was a recreation area. Many would come to picnic on the grounds around the Whitman home to hear a concert, while sitting under shady maple trees and taking in the summer breezes from the pond.

A three-course gourmet Breakfast is served each morning along with gourmet coffee and teas. We serve breakfast from 8:AM to 9:00 AM or earlier by request. Our breakfasts are homemade and fresh each morning and include several varieties of muffins such as blueberry, squash or cranberry, banana bread and granola as well as a selected main course of baked eggs, waffles, French toast or quiche Lorraine.
