 We are a AAA three Diamond rated inn. All fourteen rooms have private baths, two have gas-log fires, and three have free standing electric stoves. We have free off-street parking, and are within easy walking distance of most shops and restaurants, and very close to the National Battlefield Park which surrounds the town. The Inn (1898 - eight rooms) has been carefully restored with many original Victorian features, and is filled with period furnishings. The Welty House (c.1830 - five rooms) was in the thick of fighting and bears bullet scars from the Battle. Breakfast is a special part of your stay at the Brickhouse Inn. Prepared fresh each morning by the Innkeepers, our full breakfast includes a hot entrée, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and bread or muffins. In warmer weather, our guests enjoy breakfast served outside on the garden patio. Breakfast always includes our signature dish, Pennsylvania Dutch shoofly pie. Area Attractions and Activities: Walk from the Inn to... Culp's Hill, the National Cemetery, candlelight walking ghost tours. Restaurants, Civil War art galleries and souvenir shops are all easily accessible from the Brickhouse Inn. Antiquing and golf courses. Discover local history with a self-guided downtown walking tour. A great base for visits to Antietam and Harper's Ferries, DC and Baltimore, Hershey, and the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg. Two ski resorts within easy driving distance.
