Gables Inn & II

Block Island, Rhode Island.

1880 Victorian inn at the edge of the village, close to beaches and restaurants. Relax in the ambience of ornate tin ceilings and antique furniture in comfortable sitting rooms or on our shaded verandas.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Block Island, Rhode Island bed and breakfast: Gables Inn & II

The Inns, built around 1880, have been carefully renovated and furnished to retain a Victorian charm and decor. Ornate tin ceilings, lace curtains, doilies and old fashioned floral wallpaper enhance the antiques found throughout the Inns. Some bedrooms have private baths while other rooms share meticulously clean and maintained hall baths.

Awake each morning to the aroma of fresh baked muffins & pastries, fruit salad & juice set out in antique serving dishes. While enjoying breakfast outside on the patio, you can decide whether to spend the day at the beach, conveniently located across the street from both Inns, biking, or just relaxing in rocking chairs on the front veranda.

For weekly stays we also have 5 efficiency units (in Gables II), & a cottage with kitchens & private baths, that do not include breakfast. These rental units are tastefully furnished with comfort & easy care in mind yet still maintaining the Gables charm.

Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, & coolers are available. A visit to Block Island is a step back in time, to a slower pace where you can easily refresh and unwind.

We hope that you will join our many guests returning for more than 20 years to enjoy a vacation of carefree relaxation. While summer is the most popular time to visit the island, the spring and fall offer a quieter time to contemplate and enjoy the peaceful nature of the island. 3 night min. July-August. We have Queen, Double & Twins Available. Sorry no Kings are available.
