Recapturing the spirit of its renowned past, the tall, round arched windows fill rooms with light; ornate cornices and medallions crown spacious halls, hand-carved marble and hardwoods enhance the luxurious appointment.

A masterpiece of Romanesque Revival style built in 1857, it abounds in fine architectural detail and period furnishings. The ten guest suites and rooms are highly individual and carefully decorated to provide the perfect blend of antique ambience with contemporary amenities. We offer cable television, DVD player with complimentary use of DVDs and wireless Internet.

Enjoy our wine service each evening in the parlor from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Breakfast will be served on a silver tray in your room or in the parlor at the time of your choice between 6:30 and 9:45 a.m.

Sarah Fairchild Conover Room: Polished marble fireplace, antique furnishings, tall lace-paneled & shuttered windows & French doors. A hidden door within floor to ceiling bookcases opens to a sumptuous bath revealing round arch windows, columns and marble.

The enigmatic Orient comes alive in this black-and-cinnabar suite where colors, fabrics and furnishings summon the beauty and mystique of the fabled Far East. Beneath the skylights of the bath, mirrored panels richly reflect the luster of the ebony tub.
