The only Gettysburg Bed and Breakfast located directly on the National Battlefield, today the Doubleday Inn serves as your oasis of peace during your stay in Gettysburg. Situated on Oak Ridge, we offer splendid views of the town of Gettysburg and the Battlefield from every window. Enjoy the welcoming charm of an inn filled with the comforts of home-cooked breakfasts, cozy quilts and country antiques. All nine-guest rooms are individually decorated in an upscale country fashion and tastefully appointed with Civil War accents.
After a day of site seeing, shopping or antiquing, we invite you to enjoy afternoon tea or cool refreshments in the inn's delightful common rooms or while enjoying the tranquil scenery from one of the Inn's two large patios or deck. On selected evenings, a Civil War historian will lead a discussion and bring the Battle of Gettysburg alive with accurate accounts of the historic campaign.
Area Attractions and Activities:
Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower Historic Site. Our Inn is located directly on the first day's Battlefield, the only accomodations within the confines of the park. Antiques, horseback riding, golfing, antiques, crafts, close to Gettysburg Airport, Civil War re-enactments, living history demonstrations, ghost tours, civil war hospital tours, National Cemetary tours, historic building tours. Easy day trip to Hershey Park, Lancaster County/Amish Country, Washington D.C.
