![]() The Village of Anmore, an undiscovered jewel in one of the suburbs of Vancouver, home to just over 1800 residents, home to Buntzen Lake, a fresh water lake surrounded by shoreline and mountain trails, picnic grounds, boat rentals, summer swimming, and encompassing the magnificence of nature at its best. As life has a way of passing by, our three children suddenly became young adults and two recently moved out. Suddenly left without a houseful of teenagers and their friends to cook for and clean up after, we felt a void that had to be filled. My extensive background in cooking adds much to our Silver Door retreat. Having studied four years in the Faculty of Home Economics with a specialty in Housing and Kitchen Design and focusing on Foods and Nutrition, in addition to culinary studies abroad (La Varenne in Paris, France, The Cordon Bleu in London, England, Marcella Hazan in Bologna, Italy, Umberto's Villa Delia in Tuscany and a guest at the Chef's Hotel school in Lausanne, Switzerland) make it a most natural pairing to welcome guests to our home. Delicious breakfasts, homemade jams and jellies, fresh produce from our own gardens when in season, and cobblers and pies made from our fruit trees will delight one and all.. Come, see what we have to offer, and, stay awhile... Area Attractions and Activities: Just a few kilometers from the country life is the award winning community of Port Moody, a recent first place recipient in The International Planning for Future awards and 3rd place for the most livable community in the world, in its population category.
