Clausen Farms B&B Inn

Sharon Springs, New York.

The ninety mile views from Clausen Farms over the Mohawk Valley into the Adirondacks and the Green Mountains of Vermont are just as beautiful today as they were in 1890 when Henry Clausen, Jr. purchased the property.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Sharon Springs, New York bed and breakfast: Clausen Farms B&B Inn

Drawn to the area for its hops production, the Clausens, who had a brewery in New York City, saw Sharon Springs as an ideal location for their country estate, which is listed on the National Historic Register.

We (Tim and Kathy Spofford and our children), representing the fifth and sixth Clausen generations, are your hosts at this beautiful and unusual property that we have restored and converted to a Bed and Breakfast Inn and llama farm.

Clausen Farms encompasses 80 acres, offering hiking, cross-country skiing, a swimming pool, a restored 1890s bowling lane, access to fishing and a nearby lake, or just quiet relaxation.

In addition to the Main House, The Casino, a Victorian gentlemen's guesthouse completed in 1892, is open from April through October. It's dramatic tower and large porch enhance the panoramic views. Seven separate bedrooms with adjoining baths for shared or private use are available individually or as family suites. As The Casino is separated from the main house by a large lawn, small conferences or family reunions can make use of the property in its entirety. Four bedrooms with private baths are also available in the main house year 'round.
