Many Intracoastal Waterway boaters anchor in our harbor or dock at the town’s marinas to visit Belhaven. Our Bed & Breakfast is within walking distance of the marinas & Downtown.
Once you are downtown, you can grab a coffee or lunch at O' Neals Snack Bar or lunch & dinner at Fish Hooks (say hello to Vick!). Wine & Words offers a large selection of wines and unique dining cuisines, or drop in at Georgie's Sports & Oyster Bar for shrimp, crab legs, & oysters. Walk around town & chat with visiting boats at the town marinas, munch on some "rat cheese" from the local Ace Hardware or peruse local history at the town museum.
Lake Mattamuskeet is a short drive, where you have the opportunity to observe rare and unusual birds in their natural habitat, including the Tundra Swans. You can take short drives to see other sites including Swan Quarter for a ferry ride to Ocracoke, 300-year-old Bath, Washington for "Music in the Streets", or Aurora for the fossil museum.
