 The Yankee Clipper was voted "Best Nearby Escape" by Boston Magazine, "Best Ocean View" and "1 of the 25 Best Inns in The USA" by Arringtons, and was featured on The Great Country Inns Television Program and in Country Living Magazine. The Yankee Clipper Inn sits majestically, perfectly sited to take advantage of 180 degrees of view. The Inn is located close to the inviting shops of Rockport but is set in a quiet, residential area. The Yankee Clipper Inn has undergone a major transformation over the last 4 years. Under the new ownership of Randy and Cathy Marks, major renovations and redecorating has been accomplished in most areas of the Inn. The Inn now consists of 2 buildings: The 1929 Art Deco Mansion Main Inn, and The Quarterdeck Building, a more contemporary style Cape offering panoramic ocean views. The Main Inn has been updated with new wiring, high speed Internet access, new wall paper in several rooms, Egyptian Cotton sheets and towels, high end amenities, and beautiful quilts and duvets. Old world charm has been retained and supplemented with the addition of magnificent European Antiques to almost every room in the Main Inn and to several rooms in the Quarterdeck. The Main Inn offers 3 suites, with European Antiques in the bedrooms and wicker furnishings on the sun porches that overlook the ocean. The superior oceanfront rooms in both buildings offer dramatic views, DVD players, and decks. The Quarterdeck offers panoramic views and beautiful rooms. Area Attractions and Activities: Whalewatching, deep sea fishing, art galleries, shopping, restaurants, antiques, historic sites, shopping, beaches, kayaking, swimming, hiking, biking, golf, fishing, boating, relaxing. The seaside village of Rockport, MA and the scenic views of Gloucester, Massachusetts have attracted visitors from around the world. The Yankee Clipper Inn, located directly on the ocean, provides the perfect backdrop for your Rockport vacation, getaway, business retreat or oceanfront wedding. The Inn is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a spectacular seaside vacation. We now serve full English style afternoon tea every Saturday and Sunday in our Sapphire Dining Room. Reservations are required. We also serve dinner every weekend during the summer and fall in our Sapphire dining room, overlooking the ocean. Jackie & John F. It is a very large room with an attached sunporch overlooking the ocean, high ceilings, a king size bed, and a private bath. John and Jackie Kennedy stayed in this room.
