Bed and Breakfast Description

The Rogers and Brown House B&B is a warm and charming historic home with modern amenities. Built in 1750, it has been completely refurbished by the Innkeepers, Johanne & Frank. The house and barn sit on an acre of land with perennial gardens and a natural brook that flows back into the Ipswich River. A perfect location for family events, romantic getaways, a personal retreat or a business trip. A short walk to shops, galleries, restaurants, house museums and train.

Our Guest Rooms have been tastefully decorated with comfortable, heirloom furniture, crisp cotton linens, spa towels and new custom mattresses. The sunny, large rooms have soft, comfortable chairs and fireplaces. All rooms have AC and Wireless Internet. HD TV, gardens, sitting rooms.

Enjoy a comfortable, restful evening and wake up to hot coffee and a delicious, healthful, chef's breakfast. Breakfast is serve in our federal dining room, by the kitchen fire or on the garden patio. We offer Weight Watchers breakfast and consider special dietary requirements, upon request.

Johanne Cassia, Innkeeper, is a traditional folk artist. She has filled her home, studio and shop with early American Decorative Arts. Olde Ipswich Country shop offers traditional folk art, country antiques, textiles, jewelry, gifts and seasonal decorations. The shop is located in our carriage barn.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Ipswich is a seacoast community just 30 miles north of Boston on Rte 1A. Crane Beach has 4 miles of pristine, white sand and scurrying shore birds. Beautiful open spaces with sea and marsh vistas for cyclists, photographers and dreamers.
Experience "America's First Period Town". Ipswich has 58 first period homes(1640-1670) still occupied today. Tour the famous Heard House, Whipple House and Castle Hill Museums. Walk across oldest double arch bridge or dine in 1640 Hart House. Art galleries, outstanding restaurants and romantic cyle paths are all here.
Summer weekend bus departs from commuter train station to bring passengers to Crane beach, Essex and Wolf Hollow.
Ipswich is in a central location when visiting North Shore. It is close to artist area of Rockport, Whale watch boat trips in Gloucester, Essex antique shops, Newburyport and Salem.

Our Federal queen has 4 posted mahogany bed and Persian oriental rug. Lovely white fireplace, loveseat and easy chair. Stylish, cheerful room with three windows,toilet/sink. Our Country Queen room has folk art mural and custom bed. Wireless Internet/AC
