![]() Stroll down memory lane to an era defined, as are all eras, by certain accepted values and beliefs, a shared code of behavior. St. Augustine's romantic Alexander Homestead Bed & Breakfast pays tribute to America's Golden Age, the Victorian years, an era of contrasts and contradictions, asking that the passionate and the proper, the sensual and the sentimental exist side by side. Mixing family heirlooms with a treasured collection of St. Augustine antique furnishings, Bonnie's flair for decorating and homemaking are evident. Picture a rich parlor, bursting with romantic detail, and walls covered with a sensual dark color, gilding lit by a flickering mellow light. Step in to hear the crackling fire, the glasses clinking, people talking. Enter the formal dining room; silver, china and crystal elegantly displayed on the striking sideboard recall dignified hospitality. A mix of family heirlooms and eclectic finds make each bedchamber an inviting and romantic retreat. Four of the rooms have their own irresistible private porch. An early morning coffee service awaits at 8:15am. By 9:00, breakfast is served in the formal dining room. Awaken each morning to Country French Apple Casserole, strata, French toast, homemade muffins and granola, fresh-squeezed OJ and tree-ripened fruit are just a few of the breakfast choices served. The Alexander Homestead will make your stay in lovely St. Augustine a most extraordinary one, where you will feel you have slipped back to another time.
