 Each home is a splendid example of period architecture, but both have been updated to provide the ultimate in guest comfort and enjoyment. The main house, constructed in 1904, contains six guest rooms and our public areas. The adjacent guesthouse, built in 1880, has four guest rooms. Each chamber has its own distinctive decor and guests love to explore unoccupied rooms to see where they would like to stay next time. All rooms are air-conditioned and have cable TV, VCRs, phones, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards. You'll also find two fluffy comfortable robes in the closet. Our wrap-around porch, complete with a swing, is the perfect spot for lazy afternoons with a good book. If you forgot to bring reading material, don't worry -- you'll find an eclectic collection of books and magazines in our cozy parlor, along with lemonade, tea, coffee and freshly baked cookies. Wander around our quaint village or take advantage of an in-room massage. We're happy to help you plan your getaway and make it special. Whether you want wine, flowers or chocolates upon your arrival, dinner reservations or help planning a kayaking trip, we're here to make your stay as pleasant and memorable as possible. All guests are served a three-course gourmet breakfast each morning during their stay. Sample breakfasts include Fresh Strawberries and Cream, Banana Medallion Pancakes with Toasted Walnuts and Crisp Smoked Bacon, or Mango-Blueberry Crisp, Grand Marnier French Toast and Link Sausage. Area Attractions and Activities: Golf, beach, shopping, kayaking, horseback riding on the beach, fine dining, sunset cruises, day trips to Cumberland Island. Visit the official Amelia Island Museum of History and discover the rich history and culture of Amelia Island, a tiny paradise with a big place in Florida’s history books. Housed in the historic Nassau County jail,the Amelia Island Museum of History showcases the island’s 4,000 years of Florida history! The Hemingway features a four poster king sized brass bed and a Jacuzzi tub. It also has a private deck and entrance. |
