La Grande Lauzade

Le Luc en Provence, France.

La Grande Lauzade is an old Provencal house that was constructed in the XVIIIth century. This lovely bastide (walled town) is located in the South of France, in Provence, close to the very beautiful "la plaine des Maures", near the French Riviera.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Le Luc en Provence, bed and breakfast: La Grande Lauzade

La Grande Lauzade was built on the site of a former monastery whose origins date as far back as the XIth century (even before the year one thousand AD, in Gallo-Roman times the site was already inhabited!).

The original Monastry, large and well known throughout the region, was plundered and completely destroyed during the French Revolution, and then sold by the State as a National property.

The house was built on those foundations with the original stones. From farm to wine estate, La Grande Lauzade is steeped in history of its evolution through the centuries. Surrounded by the vines which still today produce the wine of Lauzade, the house offers you access to the different level of Gardens for your pleasure. A few steps down from the terrace, the pool deck lies under the platane trees. The large cedar of the low garden provides protection from the sun.

Corine et Thierry will accommodate you in the true tradition of a Guest House, welcoming you to the heart of their residence, in one of their three large guest rooms and one self catering combining, the charm of old style furniture and all the modern comfort.

Your hosts will be happy to take you on a guided tour of the house and surroundings, thus sharing with you their passion for this beautiful residence and its history... If you like old stones, nature, history, and music, you will be conquered by the magic of the place...
