Beaches & Dreams is two cottages, each with vaulted ceilings, rattan furniture, and a veranda just a few feet from the sea. The restaurant serves the best food & the coldest drinks on one of the nicest stretches of beach on the south coast of Belize.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Beaches & Dreams was built in 1998 and is owned and operated by Alaskan's Tony and Angela Marsico, who together comprise over 40 years in the hospitality business.

All rooms are made of the finest Belizean hardwoods and tile and are situated on a natural dune 66 ft from the Caribbean Sea. Furnished with king size beds, rattan furniture and ceiling fans, these spacious rooms provide a comfortable, relaxing stay. The private tiled bath includes bathtub and shower, hot and cold water and large mirror with vanity lighting.

The restaurant, The Barracuda Bar and Grill, often described as one of the best in Southern Belize, offers a fully stocked bar, satellite TV and large variety of North American, Italian, and fusion Caribbean dishes. The pizzas have become famous throughout the entire country.

Chef Tony also offers a limited cooking class every Wednesday afternoon as he prepares the days fresh seafood with you right on the beach. Our seafood is often bought from fisherman right on our dock, the vegetables from local gardeners and the beef, poultry and dairy from the local Mennonites. Our menu offers an array of items such as pork chops with fig stuffing, Belizean Bouillabaisse and Paella. Vegetarian selections like Thai vegetable curry and Pasta Prima Vera are also favorites with the locals.

Tony and Angela have a genuine knowledge of the area and can arrange any tours you would like.

We also cater for weddings and honeymoons and can arrange for a romantic picnic cruise.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Centrally located on the coast, Hopkins is 20 miles south of Dangriga and only 7 miles from the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, making it ideal for staging your entire visit to Belize.

For inland tours, we are only 15 minutes away from great hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing at Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Preserve and Mayflower Bocawina National Forest, both of which have numerous waterfalls to hike to and swim beneath.

We can also arrange all trips for cave tubing, zip lining, horseback riding in the jungle, visit Xanantunich Mayan Ruins. The town of Hopkins itself is a Garifuna Fishing village,and is famous for its drumming.

We are known for our fishing, snorkeling and diving and river/lagoon tours and can arrange these all from our Resort. Take a trip to the reef for a combination snorkeling/fishing trip and picnic on a private Island. Take a night trip up the Sittee River to spot crocs and a variety of night creatures. Or just relax on our very private beach.

Most Popular Rooms:

All 4 of our rooms are basically identical and capitalize on the non-stop ocean breeze. Pleasant landscaped grounds with stone walkways that connect the rooms with our dining deck, the dock and a freshwater shower, make for a private atmosphere all rooms.

Rooms 1&2 are next to each other as are rooms 3&4. For families whom wish more than one room, this is an excellent way to go. Each room has a King sized bed and we are able to add up to two twin beds or a set of bunk beds to accommodate families.
