Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams

Cook Time: 20 minPrep Time: 10 min
Yield: 6 servingsInactive Prep Time: 1 hr

Ingredients:
Topping:
1/2 c maple syrup
1 c chopped pecans

Batter:
4 eggs
1/2 c heavy cream
1/2 c milk
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp nutmeg

French bread, sliced approx. 5/8" thick slices

Instructions:
Combine Topping ingredients in bowl or jar. Mix well. Refrigerate at least one hour. (Can be made several days ahead.)

Preheat griddle or large skillet. Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Cover baking sheet with foil.

In large bowl, combine batter ingredients. Beat well. Dip bread slices in batter mixture, turning to coat. Cook on hot griddle or skillet till lightly browned and egg mixture is dry. Remove to foil lined baking sheet, placing in single layer.

Spread each slice with pecan mixture. Bake approx. 10 minutes or to desired degree of crispness. Serve hot.

Notes:
May be topped with additional syrup, powdered sugar or whipped cream if desired.
