Ingredients: 4 Apples
Cinnamon Sugar
Pats of Butter
Loaf of French Bread, sliced 1" thick
4 Eggs
1 1/2 Cup Milk
4 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
Cinnamon
1 Stick of Butter
Splash of Apple Cider
2 Cups Dark Brown Sugar
1 Cup Black Walnuts
Instructions: Slice cored apples into bottom of sprayed glass 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon sugar & pat with butter. Put bread over the top of butter. With electric mixer, beat eggs, milk & 2 tablespoons of the vanilla. Pour mixture over bread, sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover & refrigerate overnight; or can be frozen at this point.
Next morning, melt 1 stick of butter in microwave. Blend butter, apple cider, brown sugar & vanilla until it makes a glaze. Stir in walnuts. Spread over the top of prepared bread. Bake for 40 minutes at 350.
Notes: This works well as a self serve item on a brunch table or looks pretty served on a plate with bacon & hash browns.
